A Forest Steeped in Mountain Biking History
If you’re looking for a mountain biking adventure in Dumfries and Galloway, few places can compete with Mabie Forest, and at Marthrown of Mabie, you can literally roll out of bed, hop on your bike, and be on the trails in minutes.
Mabie Forest has been a pioneer in Scottish mountain biking since the early 1990s. Thanks to trailblazers like Rik Allsop, Mabie was one of the first purpose-built trail centres in Scotland.
When the 7Stanes project launched in 2001, Mabie’s trails received a major upgrade, bringing tens of thousands of riders to the area. Today, it’s a mix of flowing all-weather surfaced trails and original “natural” singletrack hidden for those who know where to look.
