📅 High Season

1st April 2024 to 31st October 2024

(and 29th December to 2nd January)

This is when Dumfries & Galloway is buzzing with activity. The weather is generally warmer, attractions run at full capacity, and local events and festivals are in full swing. Perfect for beach days, mountain biking, and evening BBQs under the forest canopy.

Tip: Book your accommodation early for summer weekends and school holidays, as popular dates go quickly.

📅 Low Season

1st November 2024 – 31st March 2025

Quieter roads, peaceful trails, and a cosy, slower pace. Perfect for wildlife watching, star-gazing, and enjoying the warmth of a wood-burning stove after a bracing coastal walk. Many attractions stay open year-round, but some reduce hours, so check ahead.

Tip: This is the best time for a romantic yurt break or a winter forest escape.
